The concept notes
This project was awarded the first prize in the Domus Academy scholarship program, April 2018.
The intention of the graphics developed for the bookazine and the corresponding collateral, is to bring an element of fun to an otherwise serious topic. The cover graphic uses animated staff lines and musical notes to form a stylised illustration of the human brain, since that is the primary organ in the body that first reacts to music, and controls its affects. The smooth curvaceous movement of the lines, embody the flow and the melodious feeling related to music.
The main caption is a pun that also relates to music. This tone of voice translates itself onto promotional material, in the form of catchy captions that are a take on famous song tittles.
